1. The Only
The Only is an artsy bar that serves pub food until the kitchen closes at night. This is a long-lived, popular bar where many of the locals are regulars.
Serves a hearty and traditional English Breakfast!
Located on Hunter Street in Downtown Peterborough.
2. Sam's Place
Sam's Place is an awesome sandwich spot. Its diverse menu features sandwich combinations of all kinds, from cold cuts to meat fresh off the sizzling flattop. I go there for a big comfort sandwich.

3. Agave by Imperial
Agave has some of Peterborough's best Mexican food. Their plates are full of warm corn tortillas, well seasoned tacos, and cheesy quesadillas. They also are known for their tequila shots and their margaritas!
Agave is located in Downtown Peterborough, on George Street.

4. Saigon Boys
Saigon Boys is a spot that squares up well against authentic Vietnamese Restaurants in Toronto. Their phos are accompanied by a beef broth that is thick with rich flavour, which coats the mouth in umami. One of my all time favourite spots.
Saigon Boys is located on Lansdowne Street and is most easily accessed by car or ride app.
Saigon Boys delivers to Carriage Inn via delivery apps, or you can call the restaurant to place an order for delivery.
5. The Pig's Ear
A bar many Peterborough locals frequent, The Pig's Ear also has some history, as it had been open for 152 years and was a frequent hangout spot for Trent University students. In 2017, The Pig's Ear closed its doors, but the bar was loved enough by the community that two Trent alums bought the bar and re-opened it.
Located on Brock Street, Downtown Peterborough
6. St. Veronus Cafe and Taproom
St. Veronus is one of Downtown Peterborough's fancier restaurants. It is a spot people often go to for celebrations and where they know they'll get upscaled food for a price that isn't outrageous.
St. Veronus is located on Hunter Street in Downtown Peterborough.
7. McThirsty's
Much of the appeal of Downtown Peterborough is in the bar scene. For this reason, McThirsty's is a local favourite for its late closing hours, a kitchen that stays open later than most, and a revolving door of weekly musicians, trivia, and open mic nights where many local musicians and artists come to hang out and play.
McThirsty's is located on Charlotte Street in Downtown Peterborough
McThirsty's delivers to Carriage Inn via delivery app.
8. Jethro's
Jethro's doesn't serve food, but it is a bar with a great, low-key atmosphere where some of the city's best blues and bluegrass musicians come to jam. Every night, I walk past this bar and there is always the sound of an acoustic bass plugging away while a guitar sings.
Jethro's is found on Hunter Street in Downtown Peterborough.
9. OMG
OMG is an awesome place for fresh, savoury shwarmas. This is a spot I stop by often for a relatively cheap meal that is consistently filled with flavourful ingredients.
OMG is found on George Street in Downtown Peterborough.

10. Cork & Bean
Cork & Bean is a popular cafe with a good selection of drinks and some strong and smooth coffees. This is a great place to grab a bite for breakfast and watch the streets of Peterborough.
