Peterborough's public transit is, unfortunately, sparse. Because of this, the Y-Drive and U-Ride apps are recommended.
Once in the downtown core, however, there are a number of buses that will take you to various places around Peterborough, such as Trent University, the Zoo, Fleming College, or the Lansdowne Place Mall.
Check out all the information you need for the bus map, routes, and schedule.
Because public transit is sparse in Peterborough, the best way to get around Peterborough and its surroundings is by car. At the Carriage Inn Motel Peterborough, we have a big parking area where guests can keep their vehicles safely. Just two doors down is a gas station equipped with a Tim Horton's to service your vehicle.
However, if you enjoy biking, you will find Peterborough to be full of lovely trails. It takes just 22 minutes to bike from Carriage Inn Motel to downtown Peterborough. Morello's Your Independent Grocer, a large supermarket with everything you could hope to buy, is much closer. You can reach it by bicycle in just eight minutes. You can even try walking, though this is a journey that will take 40 minutes.
We highly recommend you walk across the motel to the Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park. You can hike on the well-maintained trails and even bring your bike to the park for a ride.
Our friendly receptionists will be glad to give you additional tips and tricks for how to get around Peterborough. Our doors are always open, feel free to stop by and ask!
